This property has 8 self-contained flats, we provide intensive support to the young people that live in these. The Project has two intensive support workers that are based in the building who provide an individual tailored support package that is devised for each individual Looked after Child who are 16 -18 years. All flats are fully furnished and we provide all the necessities that someone would need to move in and live comfortable with immediate effect.
The staff adapt their working hours to suit the young person’s schedule and needs, staff are available for drop in sessions and informal chats. This has proved to ensure that relationships between the staff members and young person is quickly established.
Portland Road
Park Lodge Project also has five bedroomed property which and supports Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children which are commissioned by Leicester City Council.
The young people are supported intensively on their arrival to ensure they feel safe and settled as quickly as possible. They are taken to the local amenities and places of worship (if appropriate) so as to enable them to assimilate into the local community and UK culture so as not to feel isolated. This integration especially with other young people at Park Lodge Project also helps them to build confidence in their spoken English language skills, as many young asylum seekers are often not fluent with the English language.
Cross Roads
