Project Workers

On the day of arrival at Park Lodge young people are given a thorough induction, ensuring they have all the essential items, such as toiletries and food. They are introduced to the building, staff, other residents and the local area, and shown how to use all the appliances at the project safely.

Each young person is assigned a project worker who ensures they are familiar and understand the house rules and terms and conditions and they are aware of all the activities they have access to.

A support session is arranged for the young person within a couple of days of them arriving. This is vital in enabling a smooth transition into the project.  Within two weeks of their arrival young people are supported by staff to register with all relevant health services.

A support action plan is drawn up through discussion with each young person to ensure that it is person centred and details all of the support needs, including life skills, the young person may feel they require. Staff can support the residents with the following:

  • Food shopping
  • Budgeting
  • Cooking
  • Education/Training and employment
  • External appointments
  • Sexual health
  • Emotional well being
  • Relationships
  • Self esteem
  • Confidence
  • Community Awareness
  • Moving on and managing change
  • Parenting
  • Meaningful use of time
  • Social skills
